Brenda paints only on recycled, unusable surfboards. This is extremely beneficial for our planet, as it keeps these used boards out of our landfills. Used surfboards are believed to last in our landfills for up to 200 years before they decompose. So by purchasing a board you are not only getting a really fun and beautiful piece of art, you are helping planet earth say GREEN.”
All surfboards have been retired due to flaws, tears, chips, dings and dents which add to the rustic beach character of the board. Boards are chosen with the least amount of damage, however due to the used nature of the boards, they all have flaws. Some board fins have been removed or sawed off for hanging and shipping purposes.
Heavy duty wire is put through drilled holes in the vertical boards and used as a hanger. Rustic rope has been put through drilled holes in the horizontal boards and used as a hanger.
Because of the used nature of these boards, on the beach with sun, out in the ocean with waves, some have traveled the world; these real boards have a wonderful past of excitement, high energy and fun. What a wonderful way to retire them by hanging them on your walls in every room of the house or in offices, stores or restaurants. They create a wonderful ambiance.
