Southern California artist Brenda Griffin has loved and practiced art her entire life. Growing up in Santa Barbara, California, she was surrounded by the natural beauty of the azure ocean and sterling blue mountains, the old mission, colorful gardens and beautiful harbor and beaches. "I believe this environment inspired me to paint, trying to capture and freeze the natural beauty of our world" she said. With exceptional mentors throughout the years, as well as being self taught, she uses a style called Romantic Realism. This is a blend of realism and impressionism emphasizing qualities of light, color, and shadows. Paintings should enrich the soul and should leave us with the understanding that the world and people in it can be beautiful if we focus on the positive aspects of all life .

Studying art in Canada and the U.S., Brenda eventually earned a B.A. degree in Art and a Teaching Credential for Art from San Diego State University.

She makes her permanent home in a rural community in inland San Diego county, California, where she has three horses.

She has had her art shown in the following locations:
Eagle Art Gallery in La Jolla, CA
Earth Song Book Store in Del Mar, CA
Out of the Blue in Solana Beach, CA
Angels Are From Heaven in Carlsbad, CA
Desert Rose in Valley Center, CA

She has also displayed her art in Artisan's Gallery in Escondido, CA. and in Julian CA.
